LUSITANIA

Much is known of the Titanic's fateful icy encounter. In a different twist of negligence, another great ship was lost with over a thousand lives. War delivers cold, without the beauty of an iceberg.

         UNTOUCHED

As I progressed through school I encountered several teachers who dodged the draft and came to Canada to further their careers. I liked them all as well as any teachers I saw on T.V.   Wasn't  Karen Valentine, from Room 222, a sweetheart?

FABLECLOTH

The world has come a long way in improving and sharing in a global responsibility. Human rights are on the rise. We've gotten better at spotting those big bad wolves, haven't we?

POEM FOR THE BLIND

ATOMIC AGE BEGUN

Once upon a time there was a red scare, and many families built shelters in their yards in anticipation of fiery attack. Times have changed, and our fears have been diverted elsewhere. But the clock  still ticks, and our silos still house their dragons.

DEATH DELIVERED

We live in an age of fast food and faster death. This is a combo meal, priced to maintain an unquenchable hunger. Would you like some ketchup on those bullets?

DOOM AND GLOOM

This is a modern version of the Walrus and the Carpenter. In the original story, victims are lured to their demise by a con job. Doom and Gloom have been conning us for quite some time.

TRAPPED IN A BOX

Ever been stuck in an elevator? Ever connect it to how your heart might feel, stuck in there behind your ribs? Whatever trap we find ourselves in, the heart is there, to thump-jump till we feel free.
